TagMaster North America Introduces ACTS Application Software

Tacoma, WA | Oct 28, 2010 - TagMaster North America, Inc. announced the latest enhancement to their long-range RFID readers for Automated Vehicle Identification (AVI). The Access Control Tracking System (ACTS) offers an innovative solution for RFID implementation projects. Unveiled at the ASIS International 2010 security tradeshow in Dallas, Texas, ACTS has garnered immediate attention from security industry professionals for its:

• Embedded access control system for system independence
• Web-enabled interface with real-time access control

Using open architecture (Linux), the system offers familiarity, flexibility and ease-of-use. Featuring a read-range of up to 10 meters, frequency hopping (FHSS), and a variety of industry-standard interfaces, the LR-series continues its dominance of the long-range RFID market.

An LR-series reader embedded with ACTS offers ground-breaking system independence. All operating functions are handled by ACTS, eliminating reliance on external control panels or access control systems. Standard access management tools along with anti-passback capability, on-the-fly access scheduling, and state-of-the-art reporting are provided via the ACTS interface.

Using a powerful, web-enabled user interface ACTS offers the unparalleled flexibility to manage your access data securely and conveniently from any location in the world via a standard web browser. “Over the years, TagMaster North America has worked with the vehicle access industry to understand what they needed most from their Automated Vehicle Identification provider,” noted Ali Khaksar, President of TagMaster North America. “The knowledge we acquired as we developed ACTS is part of our commitment to listen to our customers and provide them with the very best solution available in the vehicle access industry.”

AMAG Technology joins cadre of leading TagMaster-compatible access control systems

Tacoma, Washington | October 4, 2010 - TagMaster North America, Inc., the leading provider of long-range and high-performance Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems for Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) is proud to announce that AMAG Technology has successfully conducted testing of TagMaster LR-series Long-range Readers with its Symmetry door controllers, joining a growing cadre of market leading TagMaster-compatible access control systems.

Test results affirm compatibility of the TagMaster LR-6 Reader with AMAG’s family of proximity readers and door controllers (including the Symmetry EN-1DBC Power over Ethernet one door controller, a ground breaking IP-based access control solution), two product lines among several that comprise the Symmetry Security Management Solution, a unified building security solution. The reliable performance and long-range capability of the LR-6 Reader (up to 40 feet, exceeding product sheet specs) was also confirmed with high confidence levels. Additionally, the ability to gain building access and parking access through the use of only one card – the TagMaster S1260 CombiTag – was put to the test, using AMAG’s proximity readers, and handily met expectations.

Using next-generation TagMaster RFID technology, in tandem with AMAG Technology’s innovative line of door controllers, vehicles gain fast and convenient parking access, completely hands-free, without causing the driver to stop, open the car window, fumble to search for the card and position it in a specific direction relative to the reader.

TagMaster NA continues to provide more options for system integrators, OEMs and end-customers alike to benefit from next-generation RFID AVI and people access solutions.

TagMaster selected by AnsaldoBreda, Inc for Metro project in Buffalo, USA

Tacoma, Washington | July 1, 2010 - TagMaster AB, the leading producer of advanced RFID solutions for rail applications, has been selected by the US division of AnsaldoBreda to provide TagMaster’s RFID system for the rebuild program of Metro Railcar in Buffalo, New York, USA. TagMaster’s total equipment value for the project exceeds 1 MSEK. AnsaldoBreda has begun to install the RFID equipment on the metro vehicles in June 2010 with a subsequent delivery schedule linked to their rebuild program through to 2012.

The TagMaster Heavy Duty (HD) Readers will be mounted onboard the trains and provide both train location for the onboard passenger information system and location information for the Between Car Barriers, which need to be activated when approaching stations. The reliability of the RFID system is particularly important for both these onboard systems, since the vehicles can change direction on track sections according to the varying route schedules as well as travel on single track sections. The project will also use the Field Programmable version of the TagMaster HD Tag, which allows AnsaldoBreda to program the specific tag location information into the tag at the time of installation, as required by the site installation team.

"AnsaldoBreda is a very welcome addition to our portfolio of global transportation system customers. AnsaldoBreda is one of the worlds leading suppliers of passenger trains for intercity, commuter and metro applications. We will be working to build on the success of this project in Buffalo and develop our business relationship with in AnsaldoBreda, both in the USA and with their European HQ in Italy” says Richard Holt, Director Transportation at TagMaster AB.

“We are very pleased to confirm TagMaster as our RFID solution provider for this metro project in Buffalo" says AnsaldoBreda. “The combination of proven performance within the rail industry and the flexible integration capabilities of the HD Readers made TagMaster an ideal supplier for this project”.

Parking & Building Access all in one at a leading real estate firm in Southern California

Tacoma, Washington | Jan. 21, 2010 - TagMaster North America, Inc., the leading provider of long-range and high-performance Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems for Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI)announced that its system has been in successful operation for close to 2 years at a leading real estate firm with over 6 decades of experience managing multipurpose, office, R&D and industrial properties in Southern California. Through integration of a seamless AVI system using TagMaster LR-6 Readers and CombiTags, SAS Access Systems, a San Diego-based systems integrator of parking control and building access systems, stepped up to the challenge of a streamlined approach that provides easy parking and building access using one card while maintaining compatibility with the existing Lenel and HID infrastructure as well as improving parking controls and manageability.

Prior to installation, only building access was controlled. There were no controls in existence for parking access at the firm’s San Diego, Ca. parking facility. With no gates, anyone could drive in and park. With no controls in place, tenants and their customers freely parked in non-designated areas and exceeded their allocated
spaces, leading to operational mayhem. One other consequence: other tenants and their customers could not find the parking spaces they were expecting.
A total of 10 LR-6 PassMan Readers and 4,000 CombiTags - in tandem with Magnetic Automation gates – comprised the system installed. After gaining convenient, quick, and reliable hands-free garage parking access through the TagMaster CombiTag, tenants use the same card to enter the building by presenting it at designated
proximity readers.

Parking facility control and management has been substantially improved, which is expected to generate higher rates in both tenant retention and new tenancy due to enhanced benefits in parking availability and convenience.
With the use of only one card, high-profile tenants and their customers continue to experience higher levels of convenient hassle-free parking and building access.
