Press Release
Tacoma, Washington- August 25, 2009 - TagMaster North America, Inc., the leading provider of long-range and high-performance Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems for Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) announced today that Baptist Medical Center has deployed the TagMaster system to manage entry to restricted parking lots for its doctors. The Baptist Medical Center (BMC), located in Jackson, Mississippi, has been serving the local community for over a century with its unique brand of comprehensive and compassionate health care services.
Deceptively simple, the clickers used by doctors for decades presented a host of thorny problems: parking operations could not be effectively and efficiently managed with a manual device, there was no ability to track, monitor, control and manage parking usage, and mitigate infractions as needed; traffic flow and parking availability was not optimal particularly in peak conditions; security was breached, since anyone with a clicker operating in the same frequency could gain entry to the parking facilities; moreover, the clicker could easily be distributed to friends, family and fellow staff.
During a quick 6-week implementation that was completed in November 2008, Security Support Services, a prominent Jackson-based provider of full-range security support and investigation services, installed a total of 7 TagMaster readers – a combination of LR-6 and LR-6 XL readers to accommodate unique extended long-range requirements – in tandem with a market-leading access control system and gates. A total of 700 S1255 MarkTags have been distributed to doctors during the gradual roll-out.
With the implementation of TagMaster readers and tags, BMC Security Group is now able to effectively and efficiently track, monitor, and manage parking usage. Additionally, security is dramatically tightened, as only vehicles with valid TagMaster ID-tags are able to gain access to the reserved section of the two parking lots. Due to the speed of entry and exit facilitated by the TagMaster RFID AVI solution, traffic flow is smoother; doctors experience improved convenience and are able to report to duty much more quickly with considerably less stress than before. Doctors are happy. BMC Security is happy. It’s a happy ending at Baptist Medical Center!
